Dr. Werner Klusmeier has been working over 25 years in different positions in the automotive industry. In his current position he is responsible for process innovation in Europe at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors starting in 2015. He is located at the European Headquarters in Neuss, Germany.
He was born in 1957, had studied chemistry at Paderborn University and started his career with Elastogran, BASF Lemförde as an application engineer in the field of polyurethane systems. After three years he returned to university and obtained his doctorate in 1988 in the field of applied chemistry with Prof. Dr. Kettrup on the subject of the thermal decomposition of polymers and single organic compounds. He joined Johnson Controls Automotive Experience in 1989 as the head of formed foam production at the Espelkamp location. After this, he held several posts, including Head of Application Engineering, Product Manager for door trims, Plant Manager at the Espelkamp location and Manager of the Natural Fibers department within the Advance Development department. In this capacity he was responsible for all natural fiber products for interiors which were produced in Europe by Johnson Controls.
In 2011, Dr. Werner Klusmeier took over the Process Innovation division for interior components and therefore, responsibility for all production processes which are soon to be implemented in the plants.
